Introducing....

Not too long ago I did a maternity session for my cousin Gavin and his lovely lady Shannon. They were expecting their first child and we were all excited to find out that it would be a baby girl!

Well she has arrived! I am pleased to introduce the newest (and quite possibly the cutest!) member of the family, beautiful baby Breeanne!

Ten tiny toes!!

Starting to get pretty sleepy, this modelling business is hard work!

And finally she gave in! Isn't she adorable?

Emily

Alright, so a little more catching up!! In September I got to meet with little Emily at the gardens in a local library where we did a little mini session. It was a great time because boy does she have personality!

How could anyone not love that face? So adorable - Thank you Emily and Mom Kristin for our fun day in the park, I hope we can meet again soon!

"Trash The Dress!"

As promised here are a few pictures from the "Trash the Dress" session that I did a few weeks ago.

Melanie and her mother had approached me earlier this year about doing this session after seeing some pictures of girls in beautiful gowns riding and posing with horses in a magazine. They decided right then that they just had to take advantage of this oppourtunity and get some pictures of Melanie and her friend Michelle in their dresses! (AFTER the dresses had made it safely through prom of course!!)
Although it was a little chilly and the skies threatened to open up on us all afternoon we had a great time during this session!
Aren't these two an elegant pair? I couldn't believe how perfect Melanie's dress was for this type of session, you would almost think she had planned it when picking her dress!

Sharing a quiet moment with Abby...
Another moment, though not so quiet!

Michelle and Diesel - Aren't these two a stunning pair? I just love how her pink dress contrasts with Diesels rich black coat!

I just love how relaxed Michelle looks in these pictures, such a great relationship with her horse and such a natural model.

At the end of the session the girls brought out Spice and Rosie - these were the ponies they rode during their "pony careers". I thought that was such a sweet ending for their session.

Old Friends

So first off my sincere apologies! When I started this blog in August I had resolved to post at least once or twice a week - or not.... Life unfortunately just keeps getting in the way! So over the next few days I am going to buckle down and try to get caught up on the last month or two.

In September I payed a visit to a few old friends of mine, including one VERY special friend named Harvey. Harvey was the horse I rode during the teenage years of my life. To this day I have never had the privelege of sitting on a nicer horse. He is by far the coolest , kindest creature I have ever met on four legs! (Although my Phinn is a close second! ;) )

He is photographed here with Vanessa who took over the ride on him when I moved on, riding him to much success in the jumper ring. He may be a little past his prime, but the boy has got some serious get up and go!!! - Read - good luck getting him hauled back!

Here are a few shots from our informal session together:

Of course a trip to the farm would not have been complete without a couple of snaps with Karlyn! Karlyn is my photo buddy who used to help me out by taking a few pictures of ME now and then with my horses as I was feeling a little left out about always being the one behind the camera! ;) This young lady and aspiring photographer is just in general great to be around and a huge help, there whenever you need her! For this mini session she brought out one of the farms elderly ladies Spice who just like Harvey may be well into her golden years but still has spunk!

(Spice was letting us know just how she felt about being brought out and not being allowed to get down to business! (in other words GRASS!) )

As always it was great to go back "home" and spend a little time with some old friends. I actually got to go back and do an awesome "trash the dress" session the following week, check back for pictures from that session!

Foxy!

A couple of weeks ago I did a fun session with beautiful and incredibly talented ladies - my friend Sarah and her gorgeous mare "Foxy Cleopatra". We got lucky with gorgeous fall weather, and beautifully soft late afternoon light and managed to snap some great shots! Here are a few to share...
Now that is trust!

Look at that scenery! What a great location for a photo shoot!
Cleo was VERY interested in these pretty and apparently tasty flowers!

Fall Fair Fun!

This month I was very happy to be the official photographer for the Orono Fair. This annual horse show is a soft spot for me, as Orono was my hometown growing up, and this fair was my very first ever horse show. I remember that day so clearly - all the hard work and effort getting ready (my poor pony "Albert" stood in the cross ties for 5 HOURS the day before while I polished his coat right off!) and then the nerves and excitement of the big day. Possibly not the most glamourous of horse shows, but definitely a fun one!

These two ladies and their family were some of the nicest people I have met in a while! The lady leading the horse was part of the young riders team, and her sister who is pictured riding the mare was at her very first horse show, and boy was she excited! They shared the ride on that lovely mare and both did exceptionally well!

Look at this boy move!!!! Ok I will admit I am a little biased as that is my sister and her horse Vincent. This was her first horse show as a child as well, and we decided that it would be fitting to bring Vince here for his very first hunter show! He was such a little pro they took Reserve Champion for their division and he even won his hack class! (and the best part is that he is only 4!) Congrats Nat!

I don't think even the fairest of judges could resist this little face!

Another set of champions - aren't they a great looking pair?!

My New Model!

Well, after about 15 years of waiting, wishing, and hoping - I finally bought my own horse! I am ecstatic and looking forward to loving him (and of course photographing him) for many years to come!

Here he is!

That's all for now - I am sure everyone will be seeing plently more pictures of this guy in the future - I already told him he needs to learn to model! :P
