My New Model!

Well, after about 15 years of waiting, wishing, and hoping - I finally bought my own horse! I am ecstatic and looking forward to loving him (and of course photographing him) for many years to come!

Here he is!

That's all for now - I am sure everyone will be seeing plently more pictures of this guy in the future - I already told him he needs to learn to model! :P

A Horse of a Different Colour

Or in this case many! This week I had the oppourtunity to attend and photograph my first RPSI Inspection at Blazing Colours Farm. It was a great day, complete with gorgeous horses, friendly people and a delicious lunch. Blazing Colours Farm had quite a few horses being inspected (they all passed with flying colours - no pun intended) and there were a couple of horses that came in for the inspection as well. After the inspection had taken place the foals were given their RPSI brands and then April brought out two of her stallions; Sato and Mirabeau.

This is Mirabeau - he was the sire of most of the foals I saw at the inspection.

Sato, another one of April's stallions. This guy was my personal favourite of the day - so much presence and look at that colour!

This was the first time I had ever witnessed branding. I was surprised (and relieved!) at how little most of the babies reacted, and how quickly they recovered.

This little colt had the sweetest, quietest temperment.

April's foals all seemed to be well handled, well mannered and they knew who their other "mom" was!

This mare was more than happy to show off for the liberty phase of her inspection - maybe a little too happy ;)
A pretty mare from Rivendell Arabians, I just couldn't resist snapping this headshot!

A Couple Of Old Friends

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have the oppourtunity to go vist and photograph and old friend of mine and her lovely horses Jypsy, Poly and Diablo. Melissa got Diablo recently and will soon be separating her horses so she wanted to get some pictures of them all together one last time before the move - as well as some cute shots of her new boy!

Here are a couple from the session:

Jypsy

Diablo (Melissa's newest edition and man is he BIG)

Poly

These two have been buddies forever!

Cricket is a pasturemate to Melissa's horses - of course I couldn't resist such a lovely model!

The New Site!

After an equal amount of procrastination (but a little, actually WAY MORE effort, sweat and hair pulling) the new site is up and running on the web! Check it out at http://www.annyamillerphotography.com/ . This site if for my portraiture work with children, babies, and expecting mothers.
Be sure to take advantage of the special introductory offer of no sitting fee for children's and maternity sessions! This is a great oppourtunity to have beautiful portraits created for your children and it won't last long!

Here are a couple samples of the work from annyamillerphotography.com:

Isn't this baby girl just the cutest, most adorably chubby baby you have ever seen? This is baby Ella, whose picture you will see featured a few times through out the new site!

Another adorable little one, poor little Noah couldn't keep his eyes open for the whole session - which was perfect because we got to catch these wonderful peaceful moments!

This fine young man was kind enough to demonstrate just exactly how challenging it can be to photograph and very intelligent, and very busy 2 year old! He had so much to show us and so much to do which made for a fun and entertaining session!

The New Blog!

Welcome to my new blog.

After much procrastination I have FINALLY taken the 2 seconds out of my day that it has taken to create this blog. I am looking forward to being able to share snipets from my recent photo shoots and events, tips for better pictures, contest information and all kinds of other great stuff.

I will try to blog often, so check back!
