Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an amazing holiday season, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in 2011!

This will be my final blog post on this blog. For future updates, more contests (which means more prizes!) and tons of photos check out www.annyamillerphotography.com/blog.

I will be leaving this blog up for anyone who wants to go through the old posts and pictures, but no new updates will be added here so please make sure to update your bookmarks or subscribe to the new blog.

As a final post here is a slideshow that was made to celebrate 2010 and all of the beautiful people I met this year!!! Thanks to all of my clients, family and friends for an amazing year!

Wow what a busy week it has been! Prepping for 2011, packing up all the orders that are arriving daily for Christmas (if you haven't gotten a call about yours yet don't worry, they are literally arriving bit by bit every day!) and then with the Groupon that went out yesterday it was pure mayhem! (Good mayhem though :) )

I am almost entirely booked for the rest of December with only a few spots left - if you are expecting a newborn in the next little bit PLEASE call me as soon as possible to get booked in (even if you haven't delivered yet) so that you don't miss that all important 2 week window. January is starting to fill already as well so if you are hoping to get in for a January session please call sooner rather than later so that I can fit you in.

Once again I feel the need to apologize for slacking on the blog posts! For those who are looking for more frequent updates, feel free to join the facebook group where I am slightly better about at least posting more portraits from my recent sessions by clicking HERE. It has been simply insane around here trying to get all of these portraits done in time for the holidays, meaning that I have been up till 4am most mornings trying to get all of the artwork done. Not that I am complaining, I am loving getting to see all of these gorgeous little ones in their holiday best!

A big thank you to everyone who has come in for a mini session to support the holiday toy drive! I have already taken a trunk FULL of amazing toys over to the donation bin and will be making another run before Christmas! Don't forget that even though the mini's are done you can still bring in a toy and receive a complimentary 8x10 with you standard portrait session.

2nd Annual Holiday Toy Drive & Mini Sessions!

I am so excited that it is finally time to announce the details of the 2nd Annual Holiday Toy Drive & Mini Sessions!

Holiday Formal & Winter Wonderland Mini Session will be held from Nov. 26th - Dec. 5th for $35 OR a new, unwrapped toy donation for the toy drive. They will include a 15 - 30 minute session on either the Winter Wonderland or Holiday Formal sets and access to specially discounted package pricing, with packages starting at $50.

I have had a ton of inquries about these sessions and when they would be held so if you are interested please inquire soon as they really will move quickly and I am booking on a first confirmed first reserved basis.

Already booked for a full session between now and December 20th? Bring a new, unwrapped toy for the toy drive and receive a complimentary 8x10 with your order.

Halloween Charity - Thank YOU! {Pickering Family Photographer}

A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday for the 1st Annual Halloween Open House & Charity Food Drive, as well as to Megan and Lesley for all of their help!

It was a huge success, with tons of adorable kids in costume and enough donations for the food bank to fill my trunk (plus close to $100 in cash). This means lots of full bellies for those in need! :)

Got to see lots of familiar faces as well as a few new, and even share in some first Halloweens!

Some were SO excited to have their picture taken, and other's a little more apprehensive ;) but all so cute just the same!

Got a visit in with my little cousin :D (love of my life!!)

Even a few pups came out to play! Felix made a few appearances, but over all it was too cold. (aka he's a wimp :P)

This month has been a big birthday month! So far I have already done 3 cakes smashes with a bunch more lined up, and it has made for quite the messy and entertaining month so far.

Little J was in at the beginning of the month for his first birthday cake smash and although he wasn't a huge fan of getting messy we still managed to get a ton of adorable pictures.

And of course some post cake photos!

As per usual lately I am behind with posting on the blog, so I wanted to make sure to pop in today and add another little cutie!

Here are a few of Baby "A" who came in with his Dad, Mom and older brother to have his first portraits done. It is always interesting to see how older siblings react to the arrival of a new baby but I think this picture sums up beautifully how this little guy felt about the situation.....

One of my favourite parts of being a children's photographer is the relationships that develop with my clients and their beautiful babies! This little beauty is going to be coming to see me 12 times over 1 year and I have been teasing her parents that we will have to go out for coffee dates every now and then after the year is up because I am going to miss all of them so much!!!

Here are a couple of portraits from her first session...

I try to get a few new props in every month or so but these guys just put me to shame with their creativity and all of the stuff they bring for me! They had seen something similar somewhere so they brought in fresh rose petals for their session. Doesn't she just look divine in amongst the flowers?!

Sleeping Beauty (Pickering Newborn Photographer)

Sorry for slacking on the blog lately, it has been busy busy busy around here! This weekend is the fundraiser for the Durham Humane Society so I am anticipating lots of adorable pets coming through for mini sessions and I am sure it will be a good time for everyone!

Just wanted to share a few of the absolutely adorable Miss "L" who came in a while back for her newborn session. Is there anything more beautiful than a perfect little newborn? I mean seriously, look at this little beauty!!

Love this quilt made by Grandma for Little Miss L... I think it's awesome when people bring in adorable props with sentimental value :)

His Abilities

I just wanted to share this awesome video of my friends' son. He was born with a congenital limb difference that caused his left arm to be amputated below the elbow, which you would think would hold him back, but that's so NOT the case. This little guy never ceases to amaze me with his truly sweet and incredible personality, dazzlingly beautiful smile and the fact that he isn't held back in the least by this difference.

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is sponsoring the FilmPossible contest this year which focuses and bringing visability to disability. This video however chooses to focus more on his ABILITIES and all of the wonderful ways he has learned to work around not having a left hand.

Pet Days Practice :P (aka an excuse to show off my new pup!) {Pickering Pet Photographer}

While getting the Pet Days promotion ready to roll I decided that I should be taking more pictures of my little guy Felix. I am constantly telling parents how important it is to get their newborns in with the first two weeks, and to make sure that even if they can't come to the studio on a regular basis that they are taking TONS of pictures in that first year because they are changing so fast you could blink and miss it! For once I am going to try to take my own advice and take lots of portraits of my own little "fur baby".

Here are a couple snaps of him at 10 weeks, weighing in at a whopping 6 pounds! :)

I must say, baby humans are far easier to photograph than baby dogs, lol! He is just so wriggly and bouncing it is darn near impossible to get him to sit still long enough to focus! But of course as any bias parent would, I think the results are well worth it :P

Well after a great but completely exhausting long weekend and picking up my new puppy "Felix" from NY I am home and somewhat settled in and therefore back to work! Little Sister "K" was a total ham and loved having her picture taken, and while Brother "J" wasn't a huge fan of having his portrait done he was a great help for getting his lil sis to smile :)

We are currently seeking new faces to model for our fall advertising campaigns and to try new ideas and props. If your child is selected they will receive a complimentary modeling session and free 8x10 for their participation.

No experience is necessary, just a beautiful smile and great personality. We are currently looking for children and babies in the following age groups: 2 weeks and under, between 3 – 12 months and children ages 3 – 12.

Little Love! (Pickering Child Photographer}

Here is the follow up to the sneak peak that I did not too long ago of two of the most adorable little kids. We were doing a photoshoot for the Sammy's Friends Calendar. Both of these two little beauties were born with upper limb differences and I think it is fantastic that their parents have managed to hook up and they will get to grow up together.

I have been photographing Little Boy "G" since he was only a few weeks old and it has never ceased to amaze me that NOTHING holds this kid back, seriously, nothing! This was my first time meeting Little Girl "G" and it seems that she is the same way, it was awesome to see. :D

And of course I am sure you all just really want to see the pictures of two of the cutest kids ever, so here they are!

These two were SO cute together... No prompting required, they just played and hugged and kissed the whole time.

This little girl is so beautiful, such a little model!

I think she will be a triple threat - she loved to sing and dance too! I quite enjoyed her rendition of Old McDonald's Farm, the remix ;)

Love this little guy like crazy, he is going to break some serious hearts someday!

Seriously, how could you not fall for that face?

Definitely one of the most fun and high energy sessions I have done in a while. Not going to lie I was a little bit nervous about photographing two kids around the age of 2 at the same time but they were great! Can't wait to do it again soon :D

Little Miss S came in to see me at the studio recently and I had a fabulous time creating her portraits! This little lady has about a billion different expressions and personality like crazy! I am in love with her beautiful red hair, and am sure she will be a little heart breaker someday :)

I'm Expecting!

A puppy that is! Felix is set to come home from NY on July 31st, and I am so excited! Not for the sleepless nights and potty training, but more for the snuggles and getting to wake up to this adorable face everyday...

We had every pet imaginable growing up, with the one exception of a dog so we are all very excited for this little guy to arrive. Hopefully he will be a perfect gentleman (yeah right!) and be wonderful from day 1. If anyone has any tips for raising and training a pup I am all ears and would love to hear them!!!!

As I'm sure you would expect you can look forward to more pictures of his adorable mug next month!

Time to add some updated pictures of my little buddy J! There are quite a few as we ended up doing two sessions for his "6 month" session because a) he wasn't in a very good mood during the first session and we didn't feel it did his personality justice and b) his Mom is a friend of mine so it was a good excuse to have another get together!

I thought that Mom picked out great outfits for his session! I love all the colours, and different styles...

Little Miss K is 1! I have seen this little princess quite a few times over the past year, and it has been so much fun to watch her grow. Here are a few adorable pictures from her VERY messy cake smash - and yes, she did get this messy all on her own! : D

So much fun, it was definitely worth the mess!

The cake smash is now being added in as a regular session. It is great for 1 and 2 year olds and can be booked with just the session (bring your own cake) for $80, session + cake for $100, or session, cake and 20x20 collage for $250 (save $50). All cake smash sessions include a pre cake mini session as well as the cake smash portraits.

I still have so many sessions that I still have to blog about - sorry I have been slacking! I guess I have just been having too much fun playing with all the little cuties that have been coming in to see me lately.

This lovely family came to see me at the studio this spring. It was a gift from the Brothers to their parents for their 25th Anniversary (aww so nice)! I was especially happy to see these folks in the studio as I went to school with their son and his Father went to school with my Dad. Always nice to see old friends and catch up!

Such a nice family! (and to all of those people out there who think once their children have grown they don't need to get an updated portrait - look how nice everyone looks!)

Daddy & Me Mini Sessions! {Pickering Family Photographer}

Father's Day is coming up soon and so on the 1st of June I will be starting to offer "Daddy & Me" mini sessions! I am excited and think this will be a great opportunity to get some of those camera shy Fathers infront of the camera and create some beatiful portraits of them and their little ones (or not so little ones!).

I am also super excited because 100% of the session fee ($25) from each and every Daddy & Me session will go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. I lost my father to a heart attack this spring and considered not offering a Father's Day special - but I have decided that I would far rather celebrate the happy memories (and beautiful portraits!) I have of my Dad and do something productive than just ignore it. My Dad had encountered many problems with his heart over the years and without the work and research done by Heart & Stroke I may not have been so lucky to have him as long as I did - so I am very happy to have the opportunity to give back!

Father's Day Mini Sessions are being offered from June 1 - 21. If you prefer to surprise Dad then just call and request a mini session gift certificate instead. Spaces are limited and typically book up quickly so please contact early to avoid disappointment.

Let Them Eat CAKE! - 1 Year {Toronto Children's Photographer}

A little while back I had Little Miss J come to the studio to do a cake smash session. She is adorable and beautiful and loves cake so it worked out really well! I had actually photographed this lovely little doll when she was only about 5 days old, so it was amazing for me to get to see her (and her awesome Mom!) again and see how much she had grown!

Nice and clean before the cake was introduced!

She was a little wary at first - is this ok? Am I allowed? But after a couple seconds and some encouragement she was right in that cake!

So messy but SO much fun, and thank goodness for the bath tub in the next room ;) Thank you to her Mom and Grandma for bringing her over and letting me pump her full of sugar.

Sleepy Head {Pickering Newborn Photographer}

This little guy was just a photographer's dream! He came in to model my new hats, cocoons and other cute props and quite literally slept through the entire session. Once in a while he would open one eye, just to have a look around and make sure he was in agreeance with how the session was going, and then back to sleep he would go. Mom and Dad were wonderful and up for all of my ideas and his beautiful big sister E was ever so patient and then posed like a little star for her pictures with her baby brother at the end.

I love how cozy he looks in these two portraits. They sleep and curl so well for those first two week, just so peaceful and sweet looking.

Cookie Monster! {Pickering Child Photographer}

You may have seen Little N is his Easter portraits from the Easter Mini Session post that went up a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to share a few from his full session as well! He's just adorable, so why not share a few more?! :D

This little guy was a little apprehensive at first and wasn't 100% sure that he wanted to how off his pearly whites or play with the toys in the studio, but a few goldfish crackers and "cookie monster faces" later he was all smiles and his personality was shining through!

This little guy came in for his newborn portraits at just 8 days. I love babies at this age! They are so sleepy and curled and will usually let you do just about anything you like with them. Little J was no exception and slept like a champion through the entire session.

First of all I just want to take a quick second to say thank you to everyone for being so supportive and understanding over the past week. I am officially back to work, doing what I love and started doing sessions again today. Feels good.

Thought I would share an adorable family that I had the pleasure of photographing recently and their beautiful son Little R. He is officially one of the happiest babies I have ever met and smiled almost the ENTIRE session without even needing to be prompted. If all people were this happy I think I could do 6 sessions per hour :P

Isn't he just the cutest? This is such a great age for portraits - they are sitting, smiling at everything, super chubby and can't quite escape yet! ;)

And a few Easter portraits snuck in at the end.

Mother's Day is coming up (May 9th) and I decided this year I wanted to do something a little different and capture that special bond between Mother and child. I find so many of my wonderful clients bring their little ones in for frequent visits, but they themselves never get infront of the camera! So this year for Mother's Day tell your husbands and loved ones that between April 10th and 25th I will be scheduling appointments for Mommy & Me Mini Sessions to create some beautiful portraits of Mama's and their children (all ages welcome!) and have them send you in for a session!

I know many people aren't a fan of having their portrait taken (I am one of those people - big time - and so is my Mom) but I am willing to bet that these portraits will be some of you AND your child's (or children's) most cherished and I PROMISE I will only get your good side :D

The mini session is approximately 30 minutes long and includes access to special limited edition package pricing. I am only doing a limited number of appointments and am booking on a first confirmed first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and got out to enjoy the sunshine and spend time with family and friends. I had a great weekend, most of which was spent hanging out with my family and visiting with cousins, and then today I went for a walk on my sisters horse and enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather! So beautiful!

I was trying to make sure to take a little bit of time to enjoy the holiday, weather and of course my family ( and all the goodies :P) but I wanted to pop on and share some of the cuties that came in for Easter Mini Sessions over the last little while. Little L and him Mom paid me a visit at the studio recently and we had a great time creating some really cute portraits and trying some new props and ideas! Poor Little L woke up that morning with a mean diaper rash but somehow he kept smiling and his beautiful bubbly personality shone through anyway! I love babies who are just HAPPY all the time (or almost all the time!) and this little guy is definitely one of those babies!

This little princess came in to visit me at the studio recently and is just the sweetest thing! She was incredibly patient throughout the whole session while we played with different props and ideas and switched her in and out of outfits. What a little trooper, who knew modelling was so tough?!

One of my favourite families came in to visit me at the studio recently and have their portraits created for the Sandy Puc International Charity Model Search for North America's Cutest Family. I have been photographing Little G Man since he was only 1 month old, but this was the first time that Mom and Dad got infront of the camera with him. This family is beautiful inside and out, I absolutely adore every one of them and wish them all the best in the contest!

Pretty Little Miss {Pickering Baby Photographer}

The always adorable Little Miss K came in for a visit recently to model some new props and for my Easter Mini Sessions. She is honestly just the perfect little miniature doll, so tiny and so pretty! During the session we had a ton of fun dressing her up, playing with props and of course Mom brought along her favourite toy - a cat toy stolen from a friends cat! :P We also discovered that Little K does NOT like to be laughed at when she does something cute. Every single time either of us laughed because she was being adorable (and it was often!) she would burst into tears, so Mom and I had to stay very tight lipped on this one.

Beautiful Baby Boy {Toronto Baby Photographer}

This little boy came to me recently for his first session in his "Baby Steps" series. I had an amazing session with him, so sweet and cooperative and Mom and Dad were great too! I couldn't believe how well he slept for us, and then woke up full of smiles - not very common at that age!!

Look at that expression!!! Such a sweetie.

We were supposed to be doing portraits of his feet and hands, but when he fell asleep in Mom's arms it was just to good to pass up.

I love the way he reached back and 'held' the teddy bear, like he was just taking a nap with his little buddy.

This is one of my personal favourites - he is just beautiful! Congrats Mom and Dad, I can't wait to see you again when Little "C" is holding his head up!

Creative WWF Campaigns

Recently I saw this link on facebook to a page of WWF's advertising campaigns about global warming, endangered species and how we all need to take a look at ourselve's and what we can do to help! I thought these ads were just great - impactful, well designed and raising very valid points, so I thought I would share!

Birthday Fun! {Pickering Children's Photographer}

Last month Little Miss O and her family paid me a visit at the studio to celebrate her 2nd birthday and capture some special portraits of her at this age. She is just an absolute doll with the prettiest eyes, and I had a fantastic time playing with her and watching her play with the balloons and her "meow"!

She came to the session in this pretty little dress with a fun polka dot print and a headband (which lasted about as many minutes as she is old :P)

Mom says she isn't really a dressy kinda girl though so we got her changed into jeans and a cute little top which I think were a little more O's style! (I love her expression here)

Little ones always love the softness of this blanket and I really liked the soft quiet expression she had in this portrait.

Mom and Dad wanted to show that this was for her 2nd birthday so I went and found some balloons in pretty colours and got one with a 2 on it. O had a great time playing with the balloons with her Daddy! I now think all 2 year olds should have balloons to play with because they are more than happy to dance, smile and make all kinds of silly faces when there are balloons involved!

So Cute It's Crazy! {GTA Newborn Photographer}

Sorry for the delay in posting! I was doing so well for a while (7 posts in a week! That's a record :D) but then this week I sort of fell of the bandwagon because I was busy with work AND visiting with friends. I got to see a few people that I hadn't seen in years, had a great get together with my friend and her baby "J" at Cora for breakfast (1940's Harvest, soooo yummy), another great visit together today with Kelly of Kelly Temple Photography and our mutual friend and on Wednesday I got to go downtown to a CD release party for a friend that I have known since I was 5! It was a great week, and I had so much fun catching up but now it is back to my other love and time to catch up on some sessions.

On that note I would like to introduce that absolutely exquisite and adorable Miss M! I am so blessed to have the most beautiful clients. She came to me at only a few days old with her Mom, Dad and equally gorgeous Big Brother "W". I was shocked at how well "W" was able to amuse himself and how willing her was to participate in creating the portraits and we were able to get some great images before he and Dad headed off to grab some lunch while Mom, "M" and I stayed to create some more portraits of just the little princess. She was at that perfect age for a newborn session - still sleepy and curled and therefore willing to be put in just about any position we wanted!

A Fun Family Reunion! {Toronto Family Photographer}

In January I had the opportunity to meet up with the P Family once again. On the same day last year I met them for the first time and created portraits of their little family. This year I was delighted to go back and see how much Little A and Little S had grown and changed and to meet Dad's sister and her lovely daughter who had flown in from Serbia for a visit.

We had a great time, and while it looked chaotic at times we definitely captured some beautiful (and funny) moments and some wonderful portraits!

I couldn't get over how much this little guy had changed! The last time I saw him he was only about 4 months old and hardly had any hair - look at him now!

This was my first time meeting these two lovely ladies and Little M was a little shy, but she started to warm up towards the end and had lots of fun playing with her cousins!

We had a session before Christmas and I was so excited to see her again when she came back for her Valentine's Mini Session! This little beauty also appeared in the blog back in January, with the other little "C" below! They had come to the toy drive together and make such a cute pair. I was excited to have Little Girl C back to participate in the Valentine's mini sessions and I think she was excited too because she was just a doll for the whole session! Lots of smiles and different expressions, and she seemed to have a great time playing with all of the different props! Isn't she cute?!

You might have seen Little C on the blog in January of this year from when he attended the Charity Toy Drive Session. I was delighted to see him back for the Valentine's Mini Session, and had a great time with him during our quick session. He is much more mobile now than he was around Christmas so we had to work quick and keep the session brief, but with a face like this how could you not love the results? (and look at all that HAIR!!!!)

I think anyone would be happy to see this little guy on the front of their Valentine!

A Couple of Cuties! {Durham Twin Photographer}

These two little cuties are absolutely irresistable! I was so excited when their Mom said she was bringing them in for a Valentine's mini session - I had actually done their engagement portraits a few years ago so it was great to see Mom again and meet her two beautiful little daughters! They were super cooperative and I just loved watching them interact with each other.

How can you not love those little faces? They are so far from being identical to each other, but I couldn't believe how much each girl looked like one of her parents. Little A is a carbon copy of Mom and Little D is a complete copy of her father, pretty neat!

This little miss was full of smiles from the get go!

Had to work a little harder to get a smile out of Little A, but isn't that face worth the extra effort?!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope that you are all having a fabulous weekend and spreading the love around to all those wonderful people in your lives!

Just wanted to share some cute Valentine's Day photos of my little buddy G. You have probably seen his pictures before featured on my site and then blog - look how BIG he is getting!!!

I love how busy babies are at this stage! He was all about the props and got right into it. So cute, at one point during the session while everyone was playing and tossing the rose petals in the air he scooped up a handful, walked over and handed them to me. The look on his face was purely "why aren't YOU playing too?! Come have fun!" Too cute!

Missing The Summer! {Ontario Equine Photography}

Every year around this time I start missing the summer like crazy! I am not one of those people that has learned to embrace the cold, love the snow and take up skiing. I would far rather sit in my house and patiently wait for the snow to melt and the sun to shine so I can grab my pony and go for a good gallop through the grass!

To make myself feel just a little better (and maybe other's out there who are feeling the same way!) I thought I would post some images that I took last year at the Sunderland Fair while it was still nice and warm!

Valentine's Day Sneak Peak! {GTA Baby Photographer}

In January I did my very first set of Limited Edition Mini Sessions! I had an amazing time doing the mini sessions - it was great to get to see so many little faces all in the span of a weekend. The mini sessions were all Valentine's themed and each child got a 30 minute session and as many props/poses as we could fit into the time slot. After the session we took the best picture and made a custom Valentine card to be handed out to family and friends. The sessions were a hit and I will definitely be doing these again sometime soon. (Easter?!)

I have been holding out on putting the results from the Valentine's mini sessions up until after Valentine's Day because I didn't want to ruin any surprises, but Little K's mom gave me the go ahead to put them up and I just cannot resist showing her absolutely adorable face any longer! K's Mom and I met at the model search I held last November looking for adorable babies and children to show of new products and star in my 2010 ad campaigns. She will be coming back this month to do her very own model session, so you can look forward to seeing her cute little face again in the near future!

I LOVE this shot. I love everything from the expression on her face, to the little outfit she had on and how tiny she looks. Little K is just that, LITTLE! She is just the cutest thing and about half the size of most babies her age - but that doesn't stop her from doing anything, she is hitting all of her milestone's right on time so I think it just makes her that much cuter!

Thanks for bringing her in Mom, I look forward to seeing you both soon!

Model Search - Newborns Needed! {Durham Newborn Photographer}

I am so excited! I just got in some new props (courtesy of Baby P Designs) and cannot WAIT to try them out with some beautiful new babies!

So to find adorable teeny tiny babies, I am currently holding a newborn model search. I am looking for brand new babies, preferably under 2 weeks, or Mother's to be who are expecting within the next month to come in for model sessions. The session is free, and the parent receives a $25 print credit towards pictures from the session to show my appreciation for their time! Great way to have some beautiful images created and have a little fun too!

If you or someone you know has or is expecting a little one please have them send me the baby's age (or due date) and gender as well as a quick snap shot if the baby is already here and their baby may be selected to participate as a model for Annya Miller Photography and Baby P Designs!

Another Cutie Pie! {Durham Baby Photographer}

I had a fabulous time when little Miss R and her mom came to visit me at the studio last month! They were up for just about anything and C and I had lots to talk about whenever baby need a "mini meltdown" break. She is also a huge animal lover so we swapped stories while R had snacks and everyone was happy!

I just love this picture! Her eyes are phenomenal, so beautfiul AND she is wearing her mom's outfit from way back when she was that age. I thought that was such a great idea, and a beautiful sentiment.

Also loved how perfectly R's baby legs matched the tutu, she is quite stylish for such a little thing!

I am participating in the International Charity Model Search to select North America’s Cutest Family and to raise funds for the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation. (NILMDTS.org) This is an incredible organization that aids grieving families who have lost a baby in healing by providing professional photography services to capture their little one's short life. It is only a small gesture, but it is one that will provide these families with comfort for years to come.

So to try to raise money for this fabulous organization and make sure that more families are able to receive this opportunity I am participating in this contest and have come up with the "Model Search Special".

Model Search Special:

$50 entrance fee includes a 30-minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery.

Finalists will be determined by online votes. Each vote is $1 (no limit on the amount of votes you can cast), and all proceeds from votes benefit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS.org).
Grand prize international winner will be determined from the 52 city finalists. The winners will be selected from the finalist gallery by photography and modeling industry experts. The winning family also receives a session with the renowned portrait artist Sandy Puc’ and international recognition.

More Catching Up - J's 3 Month Session! {Pickering Baby Photographer}

Well I will have tons and tons of adorable faces to post from January, but for now I am going to post some that should have been up a long time ago! This little guy is very special to me as he belongs to friend's of mine and I am so excited that I have him as a participant in my Baby Steps program!

Isn't it CRAZY how fast they grow!? I don't think first time parents often realize how important it is to get those newborn photos done ASAP while they are still tiny! I am always blown away by how fast they grow and how much they change within the first year - but of course I am always delighted to see that first smile and giggle!

Mom and Dad are beautiful too aren't they? Great parents, and I cannot wait to do J's 6 month in a couple of months!

Most Adorable Product EVER! {Durham Children's Photographer}

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE these new little accordion books that I have found. Just added them to the product menu a few days ago and ordered a sample to make sure I like them and they are SO CUTE! Really excited to start making these, and the best part is that they come in sets of 3 or more so they are just perfect for giving to Grandma and Grandpa to show off to their friends - and you still get to keep one too!

They are custom designed using 12 of your favourite portraits, and they fold up into a perfect little 5x5 square that is magnetized either to keep it together in your purse or two fan out and stick to the fridge for everyone to see!

Playing Catch Up! Little Miss V {Toronto Baby Photographer}

This month has been just WILD! I am having so much fun, but am up to my eyeballs in editing and just doing my very best to catch up. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not complaining, I have been thoroughly enjoying the steady stream of adorable babies and children and beautiful families coming through the studio!
I will posting lots of little snipets from my sessions this month as well as a bunch of cuties from my Valentine's mini sessions, but for now here are a few from a session I haven't yet blogged about from 2009.

Little Miss V and I actually ended up having 3 sessions together this summer, not because she wouldn't smile, not because she fussed or cried, but because she wouldn't SLEEP! Ha ha, her Mommy and I waited and waited as she desparately wanted sleeping pictures of her little angel, but V was not having any part of it. On our final session we waited for hours for her to pass out, quietly tip toed into her room and carefully and ever so quietly got into position - I think we took 5 shots and BAM her eyes flew open and she started giggling like mad!

What a cutie pie, this one was just personality plus and I had a fabulous time capturing it all!
